Rumours on the Wind

Currently Autumn 2965

Iron in the Hands of Dunlendings:
The Rangers have seen more activity this far north from the Dunlendings than seen in the last score years. Small groups raid farmsteads and loggers, harass fishermen and trappers, before slinking back to the foothills of Dunland. More worryingly, however, is that they are increasingly found with arms and armor of iron, unlike the primitive traditional tools they often use.

Names of new warlords are whispered by the southernmost Rangers with increasing fervor and worry...Ivoch the Boneless, Tembur, and The Eater of Ghosts...

Troubles in Tharbad:
Tharbad may have once been a city of some splendor and import, but your recent travels reveal a city run by vain-glorious old man and his cronies. You now know the Rangers, through their agent, Gwillith, keep tabs on the city, but it seems likely the city might fester further without more active intervention and leadership.

A Ranger Roaming:
Drach, a young, and particularly hot-headed, Ranger of the North has missed several check-ins. His last known whereabouts were heading North from Sarn Ford.

Shadow in the south:
Vania, a captor of the company's skirmish with a group of southerners, speaks of a network, including Sabian, of her people spreading across the dead lands of Eriador. Where are they coming in from? What do they want? Etc...

Queen in the Golden Hall:
"Haven’t you heard? There’s a queen in Lond Daer, now! Some say she came in a golden ship from the West, and others say that she slew a Dragon — a Dragon, mind you — and took her golden crown from his hoard, and gave all the rest of the treasure to her knights. She’s got knights too, you know, brave warriors all in shining armour, out riding on the Road a-questing and thwarting evils, I hear. She’s called for heroes to come to her hall, and soon she’ll put all the world to rights. And oh — her hall’s all made of silver, too, and she drinks from a cup of gold.”
